BACKGROUND

Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Initiatives Limited (CEDIL Uganda) is a social entrepreneurial, non-political and not for profit making organization incorporated in Uganda as a company limited by guarantee without shares. The company was registered on 03/09/2015 under the company act 2012, with registration number: 207919. CEDIL Uganda started as a management consultancy company basically undertaking business development services and training for individuals (entrepreneurs), small community/farmer groups, co-operatives (SACCOs),Small and Medium Business enterprises and community based organizations or local NGOs.

CEDIL Uganda being a social enterprise development organization with socio-economic intent by using hybrid approach of inclusive business and social entrepreneurships to underpin social impact among the challenged communities with interventional services in health, education and training, Agriculture, Natural resources and environment, and livelihood disadvantaged communities.

This company is a young organization with very high prospects of growing to a remarkable levels based on the governance strategy set by the founders and the mode of operations, CEDIL Uganda was founded by four Ugandan nationals from Northern Uganda with very wealthy experience in both humanitarian and private sector business operations on varying sectors.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

CEDIL Uganda’s long terms goal is to support integral human development with an approach that prioritizes health, education, rural financial services, food security, livelihoods, natural resources and environment, participation of civil society and capacity building of individuals, business enterprises, community groups, local partners and government.

CEDIL Uganda key strengths include a highly skilled and motivated core team that brings long years of national and international experience. The team, adhering to professional integrity and excellence, is placed at its program and operation levels has an inherent capacity to respond to challenges related to rural development in fragile environments. CEDIL Uganda operations are supported through closely affiliated programs. CEDIL Uganda biggest asset remains a very strong network of partners communities including men and women organizations spread across the region. In terms of systems and procedures, CEDIL Uganda relies on well-established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that have been tested, audited and further developed as a result of CEDIL Uganda’s extensive engagement with various donors and public sector projects. CEDIL Uganda policy manuals are documented while SOPs for all major areas of operations are available and are upgraded on regular basis. As a compliance protocol for contracts and agreements, renowned agencies and organization management and internal controls.
